Mike Abbott

Mike Abbott, Trustee of Oak Tree Farm for many years passed away late last week.

He had been Treasurer of the charity and was often seen selling raffle tickets at events and Plant Days, not many people avoided buying a raffle ticket.

Our Chairman commented ‘his dry sense of humour and good natured companionship will be greatly missed’.

We remember Mike warmly and our thoughts are very much with all his family and friends.

Tony Browne

Tony Browne, long time stalwart of Oak Tree Farm sadly passed away earlier this week.

Tony was in the founding group of Marshlands School parents in the late 80’s who set up the charity, Oak Tree Farm Rural Project. He held the positions of Vice Chairman and Chairman of Trustees over the years and was made a Patron on his retirement in 2017.

He was a straightforward, practical man and leaves his mark on many of the buildings and facilities at Oak Tree Farm.

Our thoughts are with his son David and his many friends, he is greatly missed but not forgotten.

Stone Advent Windows

Stone Advent Windows is still going ahead, but this year the window openings will be virtual online openings instead and shown on the Christ Church Facebook page.
Even though our team members have been at home on Lockdown, they have still been able to contribute to Oak Tree Farm's window, so if you are shopping in Stone, look out for our display in Woolliscrofts.
Our virtual opening will be on 21st December.

Coronavirus Update - 5th November

I am disappointed to let you know Oak Tree Farm Rural Project will close again on Wednesday 4th November for one month, this is in line with the ‘lockdown’ in England and with many of the other Day Services in this area. We need to close to help to control the virus and keep everyone safe.

We will be supporting Team Members remotely as before with welfare calls, the ‘Custard’s Quacks’ Newsletter, Team Members Facebook group and Messenger chat group. We will also be delivering activities to do at home and doing Zoom sessions to help with these activities.

Details of how to access the Zoom sessions will be posted on the Team Members Group Facebook page, or contact us for details.

The farm, tea room and shop remains closed to visitors for  the foreseeable future.
