Supported by the generosity of others

Oak Tree Farm is supported by many volunteers who give generously of their time to support the activities of the charity. They work alongside staff to support our Team Members, help in the tea room and shop and serve on the management committee as Trustees.

We have about twenty five regular volunteers currently and ten elected Trustees who are all volunteers. They have a diverse range of experience which benefits the charity . This may be an interest in gardening, professional experience or being able to help in our Tea Room and Shop.

Volunteers are required to supply a reference and undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service ‘Police Check’.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please get in touch. We do look for volunteers from time to time, most recently for our Tea room and Shop.

We are always interested in speaking to people who may consider becoming a Trustee. There is some responsibility with this role, Trustees meet on one evening a month to discuss policy, finance etc; if you are interested in this get in touch and we can arrange for a current Trustee to explain things.

In 2014 we were awarded The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.  This is given for outstanding achievement by groups of volunteers who regularly devote their time helping others in the community; improving the quality of life and opportunity for others and providing an outstanding service. It is described as the MBE for a voluntary group.
