Oak Tree Incorporates!

Oak Tree Farm Rural Project is now a Company Limited by Guarantee, registered in England and Wales, its official title is Oak Tree Farm Rural Project Limited, No. 7343296. It is also a new charity, registration No. 1138396. The official change over took place on 1st November 2010 following a meeting of the 'Trustees', who are all now 'Directors' as well! The assets, activities and aims are all the same as the old organisation, the only thing different is that Oak Tree Farm is now incorporated.
This means that the charity can gain a long lease with it's landlord and, indeed, actually be the lease holder, In the past this has had to be in the name of an individual. It also means that funders and grantmakers may be happier to help the charity. Oak Tree Farm has grown significantly over the years and has more Team Members, a larger staff team of eleven, has contracts with a variety of people and organisations. It is now very appropriate to become a company. What this also does, is limit the liability on the Trustees to a pound should the organisation finish. This is the last thing any one wants, and everybody involved is working towards the charity's future strength and helping more people with learning disabilities.
