Craft Group

Oak Tree Farm Craft Group

This recently-formed group meets on the first Tuesday of the month from 7pm – 9.30pm in the Tea Room.

It is open to anyone interested in any crafts, whether you wish to learn a new technique or just come along to enjoy crafting with like-minded people. There is no need to book – just turn up; all are welcome.  There is a charge of £5 per person to cover refreshments and any money raised goes to support the work of Oak Tree Farm.

We have been sharing skills in needle-felting, bag making and felted jewellery.  The pictures show some of the items we have made – while having fun and eating cake!

Over the coming months we will be covering other topics (see programme below), but you will be just as welcome if you want to come along with your own project and perhaps just knit or crochet.  You may also find someone who would like to learn from you – or you from them.

The provisional programme we are planning for the rest of the year is:

6th June                 Book Folding

4th July                  Continental Knitting

1st August             Informal summer craft-along – bring your “work in progress”

5th September        tba

3rd October            Millinery and fascinators

7th November        Felted tree decorations

5th December        It’s Christmas!  Let’s make crackers!

I have had some lovely feedback from people who have been inspired to continue with their newly-acquired skills at home.  I have heard of sewing machines being purchased, or being used again after years in the cupboard!  If you do make something, then please consider making another item, or two, to be sold in our Tea Room.  It all helps the Farm to continue its important work with adults with learning needs.  Thank you.

If you would like to join my email list to receive a reminder and list of any items you might need for a particular evening, please send your email to oakadmin2@btconnect.com stating “Craft Group”.

We hope to see you soon.
