The Craft Group continues to meet monthly on the first Tuesday of the month to enjoy crafting and learn new skills whilst raising funds for Oak Tree Farm. All meetings start at 7pm and finish by 9:30pm and are open to all. A charge of £5 covers refreshments and some materials and all proceeds are donated to the Farm. In 2018 we were able to donate over £750 to the Farm, plus many members made and donated items to be sold in the shop.

The new shop will provide further opportunities for our Team Members to learn new skills, including floristry, using the till, customer service and so on. We hope to have the interior fitted out in time to open the shop before Christmas. Click for more details |
 | At the beginning of September Bob Colclough began cycling the US Pacific Coast route to raise money for Oak Tree Farm Rural Project in Hilderstone. The three-week ride was to cover 1857 miles from Vancouver, in Canada, to San Diego just short of the Mexican border. Unfortunately, after cycling 800 miles, Bob became ill and was unable to complete the journey. He has posted the following update on his Just Giving page.
"For
those that have followed the trip on FB you will already know the outcome. I
became ill half way through the ride and had to return home. There was a
considerable amount of Flu in Oregon and it seems I contracted a strain. Simply
rest and staying warm is the only treatment."
Although Bob is disappointed not have reached his goal of reaching San Diego, we are still really proud of him for achieving what he did, and would like to thank him and his supporters for the donations made on his Just Giving page. We wish Bob a speedy recovery now that he is back in the UK.

Bob says “This is the latest in a series of long distance rides I have done for charity. Previously I have supported national charities, but decided this time to support a local one.”
David Folkes, Chairman, says “We are delighted that Bob will be supporting us in this way and look forward to following his progress on social media.”

The hammer fell at Oak Tree Farm Rural
Project last Friday 16th March when local artist Rita Banks donated 26 of her
paintings to be auctioned.
We were delighted with Rita’s generous offer and called on the services of
auctioneer and friend of the Farm, Mike Beardmore, to conduct the auction.
Viewing took place from 6pm and by the time the auction began at 7pm the Tea
Room was packed with eager bidders.
Rita supported Mike by telling the story behind the paintings as they went under the hammer; many had been exhibited and won
international prizes.
By the end of the evening all the paintings had
been sold and we had raised the amazing sum of £1148 to boost funds.
Sincere thanks to Rita Banks for her generous
donation and to Mike Beardmore for his skills as the auctioneer.
